Dear Council Members,
RE: Agenda Item 6-A (TUESDAY, JUNE 9, 2009 Meeting)
WILMONT (The Wilshire Montana Neighborhood Association) is opposed to overturning the landmark status on the property at 301 Ocean Avenue.
It is the opinion of Wilmont that this building is of historical significance, and is worthy of preservation. Wilmont believes that the demolition of this building will present a significant loss of affordable housing stock in our area.
It is our opinion that the Landmark Commission is more qualified then city staff in determining the designation of this landmark, and that the City Council should respect the decision of the Landmark Commission in this case.
Sincerely,
Wilshire Montana Neighborhood Association
